Automotive Students Tour Fleet Services

On June 7, over 20 students from the American River College automotive program stopped by UC Davis to tour the campus’ Fleet Services. Fleet Services Director Dan McCann partnered with ARC instructor John McCormack to help students learn about career opportunities outside of automotive dealerships.

Deferred Maintenance Project: Hydration Stations

The main goal of installing hydration stations around campus is to reduce our plastic waste and improve our sustainability actions. Recently, Facilities installed new hydration stations for bottles at Vet Med 3A, Gourly Clinical Teaching Center, and Valley Hall as part of a Deferred Maintenance project.

An Oldie but a Goodie: Boiler # 1

After running for almost 50 years, Boiler #1 at the Central Heating and Cooling Plant was retired. However, with plans to switch to a more sustainable heating operation, Utilities decides to bring Boiler #1 back online as a security measure to ensure overall campus operations will be unaffected by future construction.
