Staff Profiles

Our sheet metal, weld, and machine shop team at Facilities Management works diligently to maintain, build, and install all HVAC systems on campus. These systems are integral to ensuring suitable temperatures for vital research and academics, making their work incredibly important to our campus community. The team has over 250 years of combined experience and is made up of 9 members, listed below:

This quarter, we are excited to highlight Linda Limon Alvarez, one of our exceptional business partners at Facilities Management! Linda serves as a Financial Assistant for Finance, Operations, and Administration (FOA) and has been with Facilities Management (FM) for almost two years. We had the pleasure of sitting down with her to learn more about her role and why she enjoys working here.

Custodial Director Lauren Bautista joined the Facilities Management team just this past January and has already made a splash! We sat down with her to talk about her favorite parts of her new role and UC Davis as a whole. 

Before starting at Facilities Management (FM) in January, Lauren was working as an operations manager at Cintas. A friend of hers who works at Student Housing and Dining Services raved about UC Davis, so when Lauren saw the job opening here she decided to apply! She says she has the “best job ever” and loves her team and the Davis campus. 

Our Safety Team works diligently to ensure that Facilities Management (FM) staff are safe and supported in all of the crucial work they do for our campus. The team has almost 50 years of combined experience and is made up of 1 Environmental Health & Safety Manager and 3 safety Officers, listed below. 

This quarter we’re highlighting Terri Hackman, Facilities Coordinator at the School of Education, as one of our outstanding customers! Terri is new to UC Davis and just started in her role about 6 months ago. We sat down with Terri to learn more about her and her role at the School of Education! 

Please join us in welcoming the newest member of our Customer Experience Center (CEC) team, Fidel Cadenas Lara! Fidel joined the team in early March and is already a valuable member of the CEC.

We sat down to speak with Fidel just a week after he started his new role to get to know more about him. Fidel is new to working at UC Davis, but had some familiarity with the campus from participating in basketball games here in college! Even so, he says he has been shocked to learn how large the campus actually is! 

We’re highlighting a team member that helps Facilities Management (FM) manage the hundreds of work tasks we receive every day: Emily Francis! Emily has worked as a Workflow Analyst at FM since 2019, and has had a remarkable impact! 

Introducing one of the many faces in the Energy and Engineering department that keep our campus running sustainably - Andre Nelson! Andre is an energy project engineer and started working for Facilities Management (FM) about 6 months ago. Andre has been in Davis for about 10 years and received his undergraduate degree here! 

This quarter we’re highlighting one of our business partners that keeps business at Facilities Management running smoothly, Derrek Kelly! Derrek has worked for Facilities Management (FM) as a financial services supervisor since January of 2022. 

As we step into the new year, I can’t help but look back on the incredible achievements we’ve accomplished. I want to express my sincere thanks to Facilities Management staff for their unwavering commitment to the University’s mission.
