Unleashing Creativity
Cassandra Ng's Multifaceted Internship Experience at Operations Support
It is all about creativity and communicating for third year, Communications and Professional Writing student Cassandra Ng. She began working in Operations Support as the Communications Intern in November 2020. Her associate of arts degree in journalism allowed her to hit the ground running at a socially distanced pace and quickly become a valuable asset to the team. Since then she has been using her talents to create billboard slides, creating and editing newsletter articles, and revamping the Facilities Management social media pages. The flexibility and creativity are two things Cassandra has enjoyed most in her new position. She is hoping to use her degree upon graduation to work in marketing for a non-profit or a cosmetics company.
Cassandra continues using her creativity when away from operations support as well. She enjoys hiking, make-up and thrift shopping. She has a couple side hustles to keep her busy; one is working as a part time barista for Starbucks. Creating coffee drinks that can bring people together fuels her love for coffee and communications. Cassandra captures and communicates raw human emotion with portrait photography, another one of her creative side gigs. She does not just communicate through words her creativity allows her to communicate through images as well.
Cassandra claims to be obsessed with the APP Tik Tok and especially loves funny animal videos and anything to do with fashion. She expressed that although she recently transferred to UC Davis, “it already feels like home.” We can say that although new to Operations Support Cassandra already feels like family. Welcome home Cassandra, welcome home.
