Esmeralda Vanover, also known by her nickname, Es, has been working with Facilities Management (FM) for a little over eight and a half years, previously as a Principal Supervisor and now as Interim Operations Manager for Facilities Custodial Services.

When she started her job at the university, she played an important role in helping bring all the facilities that were outsourced at the time back in house and filled directly by university employees. In her current position, Esmeralda provides valuable oversight and support for custodial services for all facilities that are cleaned on dayshift. Her favorite part of the job is working with the staff and making a tangible impact on the appearance of our campus. She loves how working in FM allows her to make UC Davis an even better place to work at and attend as a student. With her years of valuable experience, it is safe to say that she is vital to keeping the Custodial Services unit running smoothly!

With all the hard work she does, Es laments that there is never enough time in the day to do everything she wants to do. Outside of her job, Esmeralda enjoys participating in church activities and spending time with her family. She also has a bit of a green thumb and likes planting and caring for flowers at home.
