With 25 years of trade experience, Eric Kite is well-versed as a Steam Mechanic at Building Maintenance Services (BMS). Before joining the Facilities Management (FM) team two years ago, Eric worked with UC Davis as a contractor. Upon meeting the folks at FM, he knew he wanted to work here! 

As a Steam Mechanic, Eric works in the Student Housing and Dining Commons (SHDS) to ensure that heating and cooling systems operate. He notes that some buildings have older equipment that can be difficult to repair, but it’s always fulfilling to make the tenants happy by helping them out! Eric says that his FM work with SHDS allows him to work with more of the university faculty and management he wouldn’t have met otherwise. 

His favorite part of working at FM is the welcoming environment with his coworkers. Eric applauds his peers, saying they “keep everything running and operating year-round!”.  

Mechanical work doesn’t end for Eric at the end of the workday, as he enjoys working on his house in his free time. Outside of that, Eric is likely exercising or spending quality time with his family.
