The Security Alarm Shop operates on a recharge-based model, focusing on continuous improvement and catering to the security needs of various campus departments. Their services include installing and monitoring security cameras, key card access systems, and environmental and security alarms. The team's commitment to continuous improvement drives them to constantly develop and refine procedures and protocols, ensuring utmost efficiency and effectiveness in their operations.
An optional but highly beneficial service offered by the team is preventative maintenance for all equipment, conducted twice a year. This service significantly contributes to the integrity and longevity of the installed security systems, with the cost varying based on the type of equipment (wireless or hard-wired).
Given the presence of animal rooms and ongoing research on campus, environmental monitoring and preventative maintenance are critical. The team remains vigilant in monitoring various alarm types, including security accounts, environmental alarms, freezers, CN2 tanks, animal rooms, temperature alarms, server rooms, walk-in boxes, BSL3-Labs, motors/controllers, power/generators, wireless systems, gas detection, and miscellaneous alarms.
To ensure up-to-date contact information for their customer base, the Alarm Update Group, a division within the Security Alarm Shop, diligently sends out yearly notifications to all alarm account customers. These notifications include the latest services listing, preventative maintenance schedule, and verification of recharge account numbers, while also requesting updates for any contact changes. This proactive approach ensures that customers stay well-informed and fully prepared.
The Security Alarm Shop prioritizes a culture of learning and growth. They offer training sessions on a recharge basis to both new recruits and existing staff, empowering the team to stay abreast of the latest advancements in security technology and best practices.
Exciting times lie ahead as the Security Alarm Shop prepares to expand its reach, particularly with their involvement in AggieAccess Phase 2. This project will have a far-reaching impact on all buildings across the campus, further reinforcing the institution's commitment to ensuring a secure environment for everyone. Their tireless efforts, commitment to excellence, and dedication to continuous improvement make them an invaluable resource in safeguarding our academic haven. We can rest assured that our campus security is in capable hands with the Security Alarm Shop!
