Julia Blizard

This quarter we’re recognizing Julia Blizard, operations coordinator at Fleet Services, as one of Facilities Management’s outstanding employees!

Julia started working for UC Davis in 2021 as a temporary COVID helpline employee before moving to Fleet Services as a dispatch coordinator later that year. Just this past August, Julia was promoted to Fleet’s operations coordinator! When we spoke with her, she had just started as operations coordinator a week prior. In this role, her main responsibility is handling vehicle rentals, while as dispatch coordinator she helped with customer service needs and walk-in requests. 

So far, Julia says her favorite part of her role is being able to learn so many new things! As she transitions from dispatch coordinator to operations coordinator, she is starting to work with campus departments that need short-term vehicle rentals (from a few months to a year) as well as support the UCDrive program with day-to-day rentals. She says she loves learning more about what goes on behind the scenes at Fleet!

Right now, Julia says her biggest challenge is dealing with unexpected situations, such as vehicle accidents or urgent service needs. However, Julia says the people she works with always make her job fun, and that she loves the work environment at Fleet Services! In her free time, she loves to bike and cook.
