Customer Spotlight: Kami Elliot
This month, we are getting to know our customer, Kami Elliot.
Kami has worked with UC Davis for over 21 years! She started her journey with UC Davis in custodial services but has spent the last twenty years with the Primate Center.
Kami has held numerous positions, including working as an animal husbandry technician, a laboratory assistant, and a staff research assistant. She has also worked in environmental enrichment and socialization programs. Her current role at Primate is Environment Health & Safety Specialist, which is new to the center, and her duties are still expanding. She currently supports the facility manager, Jim Pisano, by submitting and tracking maintenance requests while also helping balance research and staff needs. In the future, Kami’s role will include supporting the safety officer, Greg Hodge.
Kami’s favorite part of her current position is assisting others in finding solutions to their concerns and knowing she has made a difference at the end of the day. As with any new role, she does say it is a challenge to quickly learn the names of all the excellent facility personnel who come to help them! Even though Kami’s background is not in facilities, she genuinely enjoys learning about all the exciting things that make a facility run.
Kami enjoys reading books, being outdoors, and sharing time with the people she cares about. She also has a passion for roller skating; this has been a hobby for the last eight years. She has skated with a local roller derby league called Woodland Area Roller Derby.
Thank you for all you do and for being our customer, Kami! Keep Rolling!
