Senior Sandra Macias has been helping out Facilities Management (FM) customers as a Student Dispatch Assistant at Fleet Services for nearly two years! As a Human Development major and Public Health and Education minor, Sandra has accumulated many skills at UC Davis and FM that will help her in her career.  

As a Student Dispatch Assistant, Sandra communicates with customers on the phone and in person to reserve and issue vehicles. She also organizes rental data and performs other office duties as required.  

Sandra loves that working for Fleet Services makes her feel like part of a community, saying, “The staff has been nothing but kind to me, and they truly make me feel secure and happy to be here!”   

After graduating this spring, Sandra hopes to work as a teaching assistant, counselor, or mentor, before applying to graduate school. Her experience at Fleet will assist her in this path as it has furthered her public speaking and communication skills.  

Sandra is likely spending time with her loved ones outside of class and work. She loves going out to try new restaurants and staying in to watch TV with her dog! We know that Sandra’s experience at FM and UC Davis will lead her to great things!
