From Art History to Marketing
Yi "Anna" Xie's Contribution to FM's Communication Strategies
This month, we welcome the newest face of Operations Support, Anna Xie. Anna is a fourth-year Art History and Communication double major! Despite only starting with Facilities Management (FM) this fall, Anna has already brought innovative ideas to internal and external communications.
Anna previously worked for the Student Coalition at the Manetti Shrem Museum as she is interested in art. However, this is her first official job with UC Davis. “I am beyond excited to bring my skills to FM and learn everything there is to offer,” says Xie. As a marketing intern, Anna creates content for social media channels, writes articles, builds monthly newsletters, and works on other communication that may pass through the department.
Following her graduation this spring, Anna plans to work in the marketing and communication field. “I hope my internship with FM will allow me to build stronger and more practical interpersonal and writing skills that I can apply to my work after UC Davis,” says Xie.
When she’s not at lectures for communication and art, Anna is likely doing an array of outdoor activities. From playing tennis to snowboarding in Lake Tahoe, or hiking in Yosemite, spending her free time under the sun! During the school year, she also enjoys calm nights of cooking and hanging out with her cats. We are thrilled to have you on the FM team, Anna, and we can’t wait to see what ideas you bring to the communication team!
