Over the last 16 years, Remedios Sarabia has learned to expect the unexpected. As the Operations Manager in Custodial Services, he has learned that each day is different and that's what he enjoys. Remedios has worked his way up through the ranks in Custodial Services starting as a custodian, moving to the assistant supervisor, onto supervisor, up to principal supervisor, superintendent and has currently landed in the operations manager position. He spends his time managing the swing shift’s day-to-day operations and a staff of over 50.   

With his years of experience and having served in all those previous capacities, he has the knowledge to mentor new employees and coach them for their future opportunities, which is one of his favorite aspects of his job. His time here at UC Davis plus his ten previous years in custodial services has given him a good perspective of the challenges that the Custodial Services team face while doing their very best to make the campus one of the shining stars of the UC system. One of his biggest challenges is that of staffing levels, but we know that with Remedios’ tenure he will find a way to get the job done.
