Under the direction of the Steam Shop Supervisor provide journey-level experience to:
• Install, repair, and maintain large chilled and heating hot water systems and all equipment pertaining to each system including low, medium, and high-pressure steam lines, valves, steam traps, condensate return systems, heat exchangers, and pumps.
• Install, repair, and maintain steam boilers, heating hot water boilers, electric steam generators, steam humidifiers, and electric humidifiers.
• Install, repair, and maintain heat pump systems.
• Install, repair, and maintain auto-claves, cage washers, dishwashers, and rack washers.
• Install, repair, and maintain air compressors, vacuum pumps, and air dryers.
• Adherence to the scheduling of work through the work management program is required.
• Consult the shop supervisor and/or lead for technical information.
• Support maintenance projects and programmatic work assignments.
• Keep accurate work records and complete paperwork in a neat and timely manner.
• Define and describe materials, tools, and/or equipment, work methods, and task sequences.
• Serve as a liaison with clients, relaying their needs and requirements to the appropriate department.
• Obtain materials and equipment.
• Adhere to all university and departmental safety guidelines.
• Attend job-related and safety training as required.
