Habitat: Prefers dry to moist soil, full sun, and occasional deep watering (more frequent watering if pods are used for fruit). Roots may be invasive if confined to a small area. This plant is frost tender.
General Habit: Evergreen shrub or small tree, grows to 30-40 ft. tall.
Notes: Leaves are dark green, 10-15 cm long, and composed of 8-15 leaflets. Fruit is a green bean during developmental stages and brown when ripe. Beans used for food; a good cocoa substitute. Most common use is gum production from seeds.
