The Bradford pear is a deciduous ornamental tree with pretty white spring blossoms and excellent fall color. The fruit of the Bradford pear is inedible.

Habitat: Cool-temperate climate. Prefers rich, well-drained soil and moderate moisture.
General Habit: Grows to 50 ft. tall, 30 ft. wide. Upward angled branching.
Notes: These young pears, planted in 2000, make an interesting comparison to the older Bradford pears planted on the north of Wickson Hall in the late 50's (tree #39). Flowering is in early spring. Fruit is small, round, and inedible.
