The Bradford pear is a deciduous ornamental tree with pretty white spring blossoms and excellent fall color. The fruit of the Bradford pear is inedible.

Habitat: Cool-temperate climate. Prefers rich, well-drained soil and moderate moisture.
General Habit: Grows to 50 ft. tall, 30 ft. wide.
Notes: These pears were planted in the late 1950's and are interesting to compare to the newly planted Bradford pears in the courtyard of the Plant and Environmental Sciences building (tree #41). Flowering is in early spring. Fruit is small, round, and inedible.
