Grounds Operations provides a host of services that directly impact the
experience of students, faculty, staff, and one million annual campus
visitors. We maintain the roads, bike paths, and irrigation systems.
You will frequently see us mowing campus lawns. We handle campus recycling
and outdoor refuse collection, manage outdoor pests and sanitation, and
act to prevent flooding and reduce pollution.
Grounds also provides special services to ensure success for your outdoor event!

Roads & Paths
57,000 vehicles traverse UC Davis each day. Public safety is our number one concern.
Grounds Operations repairs campus roads and bike paths and sweeps campus streets to
promote safety and sanitation.
Refuse Collection
Grounds collects campus green waste, and refuse from outdoor litter and recycling
containers. We sponsor the award-winning R4 Recycling Program,
engaging UC Davis students in promoting campus sustainability.
Special Event Services
To support special outdoor events, we provide stage rental and setup, barbecues,
and recycling and trash containers. We can help you make your event
Zero Waste!
We also offer irrigation curtailment if your event is near a lawn or outdoor space. In
most cases, we need 24 hour notice for one of our professional irrigators to analyze your
needs and make the necessary arrangements.
Building Exterior Pressure Washing
Pressure and steam cleaning for building exteriors
is available on a recharge basis.
