Custodial Services provides cleaning and specialty services for most campus buildings. We also enhance campus
security with a building locking and unlocking service.
We strive to provide consistent and quality cleaning services for UC Davis. Our
standard cleaning services are described at Custodial Schedules.
While most custodial work is performed in the evening, custodians are available during the
day to clean up spills or other urgent needs by calling 752-1655.
Custodial services for buildings that aren't state-funded are performed
"by agreement". Contact your facility manager for information about the regular services for
these buildings.
Specialty Services
Specialty services are provided on a recharge basis. Services available include:
Washing of exterior and interior windows
Pressure-washing of buildings
Portering (cleaning) for special events
Washing walls
Cleaning blinds
Cleaning furniture
Shampooing carpet or refinishing floors, beyond the standard frequency
Building Locking and Unlocking Service
Custodial Services provides a locking and unlocking service for most campus buildings.
Building entries are unlocked in the morning and locked in the evening on a pre-arranged schedule.
Custodial Services also provides entry unlocking services for special events or weekend use. Permits are required
and may be obtained in advance from Campus Events & Visitor Services (departmental space) or the Registrar's Office (general assignment classrooms).
In addition to scheduled services, upon request Custodial Services will unlock rooms within these guidelines:
General assignment classrooms. Will unlock immediately. These rooms should be unlocked at all times.
Departmentally assigned classrooms. Will unlock if approved by department.
Labs. Will not unlock any lab except in emergency and with notification by appropriate personnel (Police, Fire, EH&S, etc.).
Buildings Not Serviced
Custodial Services does not provide regular maintenance services to the following buildings:
Activities & Recreation Center
ARC Pavilion
Aquatic Center
Cowell Student Health
Putah Creek Lodge
Recreation Pool Lodge
All Student Housing
